Any parent, guardian or custodian of a child may apply to a court to determine any matter relating to the maintenance of the child. Further, one may make an order to prompt a specified person to make payment for the maintenance of a child.
The law makes the following presumptions regarding the maintenance of a child if:-
The court has the power to make a maintenance order, whether or not the child’s parent has filed for divorce or separation.

Hello I have been married for 6years and have a four old. Now I haven’t seen my husband for 3 years since he lives in Norway and I want file for divorce on desertion. I need to know how to go about the maintainance of the child officially. Since he doent communicate with us but send a cheque every month. But not enough even the child’s education. Thanks
