Editor’s tip for taking your child’s passport photos:

  • Your child must be alone.
  • Your child must not be holding any toys or dummies.
  • Children under 1 can have their heads supported and don’t have to be opening their eyes.
  • Children under 6 don’t necessarily have to be looking directly at the camera.
  • Ears must be showing, tuck any hair under their ears.
  • The photo must be in colour and have a white background.

Take as many photos and ensure that their eyes look at the camera, their head is angled forward and they have a somewhat neutral expression.
