Everyone’s party deserves a sweet and sparkly toast. But when the guest of honor can’t partake in the champagne cheers, it makes the moment a little less fun. If one of the things that you’re missing most during your pregnancy or just after giving birth, is kicking back with an icy cold cocktail at the end of a long day, you’re in luck.

We’ve got 3 delicious, nonalcoholic drink recipes for mums-to-be, or anyone looking to cut back on their liquor intake.

 

 

The first important element to a good mocktail is something fizzy.  This will make your drink fancier than just a glass of juice.  Recipes with tonic water, ginger ale, sparkling water, or sprite make great mocktails. Think of it as a fancy soda!

 

From sweet to savoury, these tasty drinks will have the new mama forgetting about alcohol! 

 

Mai Tai Mocktail

Shake things up with a Mai Tai Mocktail that the whole family can enjoy!

 

Mai Tai

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 1/2 cup Ginger ale or Sprite
  • 2 Limes, wedges(garnish)
  • 1 Orange(garnish)
  • I Tbsp Grenadine
  • 1/2 cup Minute Maid Pulpy Orange juice
  • 1/4 cup Pineapple juice
  • A handful of cherries
  • Toothpicks for cherries (optional)

Method

Fill a beverage glass halfway with ice. Add Sprite, pineapple juice, orange juice, and grenadine. Top with orange slice, lime wedge, and a toothpick skewered with cherries. Serve with a straw.

 

Virgin Mimosa

This simple mimosa recipe makes for an amazing brunch drink! It does not contain added sugar. It’s a healthy, non-alcoholic drink. This chilled glass of mimosa is a real comforter especially on those unbearable hot days. You will need only three ingredients—orange juice, lemonade and a sprite.

 

Virgin Mimosa

Ingredients
  • Sprite
  • Orange Juice
  • Lemonade or squeezed lemons
Method
First of all, fill your glass about half full with orange juice. Next, add a splash or two of lemonade. Top it off with Sprite. Enjoy!

Sunshine Berry Mocktail

Ingredients
  1. 1/4 to 1/2 cup super fine sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
  2. Cold squeezed lemon
  3. 1 glass chilled Minute maid Pulpy orange juice
  4. 4 cups cranberry juice
  5. 4 cups sparkling water or sprite
  6. 2 Big Ice chunks
  7. Orange slices
  8. Fresh raspberries
  9. Fresh blueberries

 

Berry Mocktail

Method
In a cocktail jug or a large punch bowl combine all of the ingredients except for the ice and fruit. Stir well so the sugar dissolves. Add ice and throw in the fresh fruit right before serving!
