10 New Year Beauty Resolutions Every Woman Should Stick to
Everyone is guilty of wanting to look more beautiful at least once in their life. Therefore, it’s only normal to want to make changes as we enter 2021. How about making some beauty resolutions you’ll want to keep for the sake of aging gracefully.
If you find yourself looking for tips for the sake of your hair, skin and body here is a list of beauty resolutions to get you started:
1. Dedicate some time to self-care
Loosing yourself in motherhood or you daily routine is easy to do. But whether you’re a new mum, a working mum, or anywhere in between, you need to pencil in some time to pamper yourself. You may only need a few simple self-care ideas to begin with and keep adding as you go along. Start by asking yourself, what can you do in a few minutes so that you feel good?
2. Clean your Makeup Brushes Frequently
This is the ultimate makeup care 101. If you love wearing makeup regularly, your brushes, sponges or anything used on your face should be cleaned every couple of weeks to prevent infection and skin breakouts and to keep them in top condition.
3. Keep a consistent healthy hair regimen
First things first, is to decide for yourself according to your schedule and hair needs what works best and work on sticking to it. Maybe you’re taking vitamins, using awesome products or making better food choices to assist with hair nourishment and growth. Whatever you’re doing for your hair type, be consistent!
4. Do not sleep with makeup on
No matter how tired you are, make an effort to properly clean/cleanse your face before you go to sleep. This involves removing any makeup you might have. Your skin will thank you later.
5. Embrace your marks
Women’s bodies go through many physical changes during pregnancy most of which are out of their control. We all know what it means to have a mark on your body, be it stretch marks or even your Caeserean scar. While the end result of giving birth is undoubtedly worth it, try to show your body some love regularly and if you may, incorporate the use essential oils such as Bio Oil for your skin care regimen.
6. Get a good nights rest
Getting a good nights rest gives your skin time to regenerate and in turn prevent the morning raccoon eyes. If you have a newborn baby, it would be great to nap when they’re napping because we all know a full night’s rest is a rumour in the first 90 days. It’s important to make R&R a priority in 2018, because you deserve to feel good.
7. Be Professional
If you go to work everyday whether in or out of the office, it makes the most sense to dress the part. This means erasing last night’s eyeliner or makeup so you’re not appearing in staff meetings with walk-of-shame eyes and taking off any chipped nail polish beforehand.
8. Invest in sunscreen and actually wear it
Wearing sunscreen is one of the most overlooked decision. Sizzling your skin in the sun will eventually cause spots and wrinkles — neither of which will make you age gracefully. Get yourself a facial sunscreen that won’t clog up your pores or make makeup impossible to apply smoothly. Be sure to include it as part of your daily regime if you don’t already.
9. Avoid picking your face
No matter how tempting it is, make it your goal to stop popping every pink, black, or whitehead you see. This can eventually cause more scars and dark spots. It’s not pretty, and you will have to wear extra makeup to cover it daily. Just book a facial already!
10. Up your scent game
Having a pre-selected fragrance option is important in maintaining a beauty regime. This can range from signature picks like perfume to complementary scents such as body mists. Body mists are not long-lasting but can help provide a light and breezy touch that works together with your signature scent. 2018 is all about upping your game!
