Dance Centre Kenya Presents The Nutcracker

Dance Centre Kenya (DCK) is proud to introduce to you our fourth full length performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. We are yet again excited to put on a beautiful performance that involves more than 150 students of DCK, guest performers, and musicians. For the first time we will be having live music with Nairobi philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by an American artist Jonathan Rust. We will have other musicians from all over Europe. Baris Erhan from the Turkish State Opera & Ballet will be dancing the Sugar Plum Cavalier. Ghetto Classics Children’s choir will also be a part of this amazing production.

Dance Centre Kenya’s Artistic Director Cooper Rust is delighted to welcome international dancer Baris Erhan of the Turkish State Opera and Ballet, who will perform the role of the Sugar Plum Cavalier. Alongside him, on opening night only, Dance Centre Kenya’s own Joanna Priwieziencew will perform the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy with Artistic Director Cooper Rust performing the role of the Snow Queen. 

Children will enjoy Sugar Plum Tea Parties one hour prior to all Sunday performances with juice, cupcakes and sweets plus the opportunity of a backstage tour and the chance to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and the other characters from the ballet. 

The shows will be as follows:

The opening Gala: Saturday 1st December at 7:00 pm at the Kenya National Theatre.

6:00 pm Cocktail Hour

Dress code: Black Tie

Tickets are Ksh. 3,000 per adult and Ksh. 2,000 per child (below 12 years).

Matinee: Sunday 2nd December at 11:00 am and at 2:30 pm at the Kenya National Theatre.

These two performances will be preceded by a Sugar Plum tea Party at 10 am and at 1:30 pm.

Tickets are Ksh. 2,000 per adult and Ksh. 1,800 per child.

Other Shows:

Saturday 8th December at GEMS Cambridge School at 7:00 pm

Tickets are Ksh. 1,500 per adult and Ksh. 1,200.

Sunday 9th December at The International School of Kenya (ISK) at 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm.

This will also be preceded by Sugar Plum Tea Party at 12:00 and at 3:00 pm.

Tickets are also Ksh. 1,500 per adult and Ksh. 1,200.

There will be amazing prizes to be won in our Raffle. Raffle tickets are being sold by all cast members at Ksh. 500 each or KSh. 2,000 for 5 tickets.
